Dr. Bart S. Fisher is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Foundation for a World in Transition.

Dr. Bart S. Fisher is a lawyer acknowledged as one of the pioneers of International Trade and Investment Law, a recognized voice in the field of U.S. foreign policy, an investment banker with steady focus on emerging markets and a philanthropist.

Dr. Fisher is currently the Managing Partner of CKR Law, a global lawfirm with office in Washington DC, following decades of private practice. From 1972 through 1994 he practiced law at Patton Boggs LLP, where he was a partner as of January 1978. He has also been a partner at Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn from 1994 to 1995, and Of Counsel with Porter Wright Morris & Arthur from 1996 to 2001, Bryan Cave (2002) and Dorsey & Whitney from 2003 to 2004.

Dr. Fisher is a Professorial Lecturer in American Foreign Policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and in International Trade and Economic Negotiation at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University. He has taught International Trade and Investment at the Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, George Mason University, and the Elliott School of International Affairs of George Washington University.

Dr. Fisher has represented the governments of the People's Republic of China, the Dominican Republic, Iceland, Israel, Myanmar, Panama, the Philippines and Sudan before the U.S. Government.

Dr. Fisher has worked since 1980 to develop the commercial relationship between the United States and the People's Republic of China. He has had a broad and diversified law practice with China involving international trade, investment, intellectual property law, and criminal enforcement actions. Dr. Fisher is currently Senior Advisor of CITIC Group, China’s third largest enterprise. He was Counsel for the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) of the People’s Republic of China in 1999 and 2000 and Chairman of China Direct Trading Corporation (CHDT.OB) from 2000 through 2003.
 
Dr. Fisher is Chairman of Blue Lotus Group, LLC, a software development company based in India, Vice-President, Business Development of Southwest Energy Group, LLC, a natural gas marketer based in Houston, Texas, Chairman of IFC Global Management, Inc., a leading Mixed Martial Arts organization, and Managing Director of J. J. & B. boutique investment bank. He is also co-Founder of the International Biofuels Association.

Dr. Fisher is Chairman of the Give Life Foundation and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for America's Blood Centers. He has served as President of the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, which he founded in 1983. He served on the Board of the National Marrow Donor Program from 1988 through 2000, and the Marrow Foundation from 1992 through 2008.

Dr. Fisher has written four books and many articles on international trade and investment, including ‘International Trade and Investment: Regulating International Business’, which has been used as the standard casebook in many law schools in the United States.

He attended Harvard Law School (J.D., 1972), The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. and Bologna, Italy (M.A., 1967 and Ph.D., 1970) and Washington University (B.A., 1963). He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Washington University and awarded The Brookings Institution Fellowship in 1968.

Dr. Fisher is listed in ‘Who’s Who in the World’, ‘Who’s Who in American Law’, and ‘Who’s Who in America’.
